The View from Kilimonjaro!

Here is a 360 Degree view from Uhuru peak, the summit of Mt. Kilimonjaro in Tanzania, in East Africa. Taken on an early June morning in 1999, the collage is composed of 11 printed photos manually taped together (this was before the days of digital, afterall) and then scanned. Click the arrows on the bottom to rotate the image.

The ice cover on Kili has changed hugely since these photos were taken. In March 2005 The Guardian newspaper ran a story with this satelite photo.
